What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Fat Shack's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, on-site assistance during a franchise transfer can potentially be provided by the franchisee. The FDD stipulates that the franchisee must provide a plan for the proposed transferee to receive a minimum of 10 days of on-site assistance. The exact length of this assistance period is determined by Fat Shack.

Fat Shack retains the discretion to approve the plan for on-site assistance. If approved, the on-site assistance can be provided either entirely or partially by the franchisee. This offers some flexibility in how the training is conducted during the transfer process.

However, if Fat Shack provides some or all of the on-site assistance, the franchisee or the proposed transferee is responsible for paying Fat Shack $500 for each day of assistance provided. This cost is in addition to any transfer fees already in place, so it's important to consider these potential expenses when planning a transfer.
