For a first-time Fat Shack Restaurant, how long does Fat Shack provide on-site opening assistance?
Fat_Shack Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
If you are opening your first FAT SHACK Restaurant, we provide up to 30 days of on-site training at your FAT SHACK Restaurant to you and your staff, at a mutually agreed time at or around opening, to assist you in the opening of your FAT SHACK Restaurant. We may waive on-site training if you have previously operated a FAT SHACK Restaurant. If we must travel more than 100 miles and incur room and board expenses for this training, we can charge you an on-site assistance fee of $195 per day.
Our initial training program is not provided by us if you are exercising your successor franchise rights for a FAT SHACK Restaurant that is already operating.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Fat Shack's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if you are opening your first Fat Shack Restaurant, the company provides up to 30 days of on-site training at your location. This training is for you and your staff and is scheduled at a mutually agreed-upon time around the opening of your restaurant. This assistance aims to help you with the initial launch of your Fat Shack business.
However, this on-site training may be waived if you have previously operated a Fat Shack Restaurant. Additionally, if the Fat Shack representatives need to travel more than 100 miles to provide this training and incur room and board expenses, Fat Shack can charge you an on-site assistance fee of $195 per day to cover these costs.
This on-site assistance is not provided if you are exercising successor franchise rights for a Fat Shack Restaurant that is already in operation. This means that if you are taking over an existing Fat Shack location, you will not receive the 30 days of on-site training typically offered to first-time franchisees.
