What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Fast Fix Jewelry And Watch Repairs's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a 'Converted Outlet' is defined as a Fast-Fix Service Center that transitions in ownership. Specifically, this includes two scenarios: first, when a Company-Owned Outlet is sold to a franchisee; or second, when a Franchised Outlet is reacquired by Fast Fix Jewelry And Watch Repairs or its affiliate. This definition is important in the context of the Financial Performance Representation (FPR) within the FDD, as financial data may be categorized and analyzed differently for converted outlets compared to newly established franchise locations.
Understanding the distinction between different types of outlets, such as Company-Owned, Franchised, and Converted Outlets, is crucial for prospective franchisees. The FDD uses these definitions to present financial performance data, and the performance of a Converted Outlet might reflect different factors than a brand-new franchise. For example, a previously Company-Owned Outlet may already have an established customer base and operational history, while a reacquired Franchised Outlet may have undergone changes in management or business practices that affect its performance.
In the System Statistics table within Item 19, Fast Fix Jewelry And Watch Repairs specifies that one of the 117 outlets open on January 1, 2024, was a Converted Outlet, meaning it was a Company-Owned Outlet sold to a franchisee during 2024. This detail highlights the importance of understanding how Converted Outlets are classified and tracked within the franchise system, as it can influence the interpretation of financial performance data and the overall assessment of franchise opportunities.
