What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Fast Fix Jewelry And Watch Repairs's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Indiana and Illinois Riders to the Franchise Agreement contain specific provisions that supersede the standard Franchise Agreement but only within those states. For example, the Indiana Rider states that Indiana law supersedes any conflicting provisions of the Franchise Agreement or Florida law. Similarly, the Illinois Rider indicates its provisions apply to all franchises offered and sold under Illinois law, superseding conflicting terms in the standard agreement.
This means that if a Fast Fix Jewelry And Watch Repairs franchise is located in Indiana or Illinois, the addendum modifies the standard agreement to comply with local laws. These modifications can affect aspects of the franchise relationship, such as termination conditions, liability releases, and litigation limitations.
For a prospective franchisee, this highlights the importance of understanding the specific addenda applicable to their state. The standard Franchise Agreement is not universally applicable, and state-specific riders can significantly alter the franchisee's rights and obligations. Franchisees should carefully review these addenda with legal counsel to fully grasp their implications.
