What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Face Foundrie's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must purchase items from an exclusive supplier if Face Foundrie designates one or more exclusive suppliers for a particular item. In this case, the franchisee is obligated to purchase that item exclusively from the designated supplier or suppliers. These exclusive suppliers may include Face Foundrie itself or one of its affiliates. Face Foundrie retains the right to designate a single or multiple suppliers for items at any time and for any reason.
As of the date of the 2025 Disclosure Document, Face Foundrie has 10 mandatory suppliers that franchisees are required to use to purchase certain proprietary products and services both before commencing operations and on an ongoing basis. These mandatory vendors include suppliers for skincare products and tools, facial bar management software, online accounting software, a financial performance data reporting platform, digital advertising agency services, architectural services, millwork, branded exterior and interior signage, and skin treatment machines. Face Foundrie does not anticipate approving alternative supply sources for these items, meaning franchisees may not have the option to substitute or request new suppliers for these specific products and services.
In addition to the mandatory suppliers, Face Foundrie also has a sole approved vendor for direct mail services. This means franchisees must use this specific vendor for direct mail services. Face Foundrie also notes that its affiliate is the sole source of certain optional products in the Initial Opening Package, as well as a supplier of other optional products like popsockets, key chains, and gift card boxes. This structure of required and sole-source suppliers is a fairly common practice in franchising, designed to maintain brand consistency and quality control across all locations. However, it also limits the franchisee's autonomy in sourcing products and services and potentially impacts their costs.
