What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Face Foundrie's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a prospective franchisee or area developer is required to submit to a background check after applying to become a franchisee and after the 14-day waiting period following receipt of the disclosure document. This background check includes a criminal/civil record search and a credit check.
The franchisee is responsible for covering the cost of the background check, with fees ranging from $200 to $300 for each owner of the franchise. This fee is paid either to Face Foundrie or directly to their background check provider and is non-refundable upon payment.
The total estimated fee for the background check ranges from $200 to $600, depending on whether the franchise has one or two owners. If there are more than two owners, the fee may be higher. This background check is a standard practice in franchising, intended to protect the brand and other franchisees.
