What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Face Foundrie's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Face Foundrie does not have any patents or pending patents that are material to the operation of a Facial Bar. This means that franchisees will not be required to license or use any patented technology or processes as part of their franchise operations.
While Face Foundrie does not currently have any patents, they may claim copyright protection in certain techniques they create and may patent certain processes and equipment they develop in the future. If these copyrights and patents are material to the franchisee's obligations under the Franchise Agreement, Face Foundrie will authorize the franchisee to use them at no additional charge.
It is important to note that any modifications or improvements that a franchisee makes to the Face Foundrie system, including ideas, concepts, methods, or techniques, will be deemed works made for hire and owned exclusively by Face Foundrie. Franchisees will not be compensated for these modifications or improvements and must sign documents to evidence Face Foundrie's ownership. This is a fairly standard clause in franchise agreements, as franchisors want to maintain control over their brand and system standards.
