What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Face Foundrie's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must participate in promotional and advertising programs that the franchisor establishes. Franchisees are also obligated to participate in gift certificate, gift card, loyalty, and rewards programs sponsored by Face Foundrie. The costs associated with these programs, such as swipe fees, the cost of gift cards, and promotions to encourage gift card sales, are the franchisee's responsibility. Franchisees must also participate in programs that promote and reward frequent customers.
Face Foundrie franchisees are required to spend a minimum of 2% of their gross sales annually on local marketing, which includes marketing, promotions, publicity, and social networking. They must also create a Grand Opening Promotion plan that Face Foundrie approves, spending a minimum of $25,000 during the period from 30 days before to 60 days following the opening of their Facial Bar, with at least $3,000 of that amount allocated to digital marketing. Face Foundrie recommends spending up to $60,000 or more on the grand opening. During the first 12 months of operation, franchisees must spend at least $3,000 per month on digital marketing and $2,000 per month on other approved paid marketing tactics, which count toward their local marketing requirements.
All local marketing and promotions conducted by Face Foundrie franchisees must be dignified and conform to Face Foundrie's standards and requirements. Franchisees must use approved media, types, and formats, and follow the procedures outlined in the Operations Manual. All advertising and promotional plans and prices are subject to Face Foundrie's approval, and the franchisor has the right to require franchisees to discontinue using previously approved materials. Franchisees are prohibited from conducting advertising or promotion over the Internet, social media, or other forms of electronic or digital media without Face Foundrie's express prior written consent.
Face Foundrie directs all advertising programs and has the sole right to make decisions regarding the concepts, materials, and media used. The franchisor also retains sole discretion over the operation and advertising decisions of the marketing fund. The marketing fund is for brand development initiatives and programs intended to maximize general public recognition, acceptance, and use of the Face Foundrie system. Franchisees should be aware that Face Foundrie is not obligated to make expenditures equivalent or proportionate to their marketing contributions or to ensure that any particular franchisee benefits directly or pro rata from expenditures by the fund.
