What criteria does Face Foundrie use to evaluate potential Facial Bar sites?

Face_Foundrie Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

We do not choose the site but you will be given site criteria based on the existing facial bars.

The site must meet these criteria, which may include demographic characteristics, traffic patterns, parking, character of neighborhood, competition from proximity to and the nature of other businesses, size, appearance, and other physical and commercial characteristics, unless we otherwise approve your site.

You must submit to us all information and other data about the proposed Facial Bar site that we reasonably request.

You cannot operate a Facial Bar without our inspection and acceptance of the site for the Facial Bar. (Section 3.01 of the Franchise Agreement)

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Face Foundrie's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, while franchisees choose their Facial Bar site, Face Foundrie provides site criteria based on existing facial bars. These criteria include demographic characteristics, traffic patterns, parking availability, the character of the neighborhood, and competition from nearby businesses. The franchisor also considers the nature of other businesses, the size and appearance of the site, and other physical and commercial characteristics. However, Face Foundrie may approve a site that does not meet these criteria.

To gain approval, prospective Face Foundrie franchisees must submit all requested information and data about the proposed site. This includes details such as square footage, traffic patterns and counts, population density and income levels in the surrounding area, land and building costs, zoning patterns, and nearby educational and recreational facilities. The terms of the lease, if applicable, and the distance from competitors, including other facial bars, are also important factors. Any other elements that could substantially affect the site are also considered.

In addition to the above information, Face Foundrie requires franchisees to submit proposed site and construction plans for approval, along with any modifications to Face Foundrie's standard specifications. The construction of the premises must adhere to Face Foundrie's specifications. If the premises are leased, the lease agreement between the franchisee and the landlord must be acceptable to Face Foundrie and include a specific Lease Rider. Face Foundrie typically reviews and approves or disapproves a proposed site and lease within 30 days of receiving all necessary documentation. If a proposed site is not approved, the franchisee must find a new location. Failure to secure an approved site can lead to termination of the Franchise Agreement if the required opening date is not met.

Once Face Foundrie approves a site, it is the franchisee's responsibility to ensure the premises comply with local ordinances and building codes and to obtain all necessary permits. The franchisee is also responsible for overseeing the construction, remodeling, and decorating of the premises according to Face Foundrie's standards and guidelines. The FDD indicates that Face Foundrie reserves the right to conduct on-site inspections during construction and may charge a fee for these inspections, along with reimbursement for associated expenses.
