What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Exit's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Exit Realty Corp. International (referred to as "EXIT") acts as the franchisor. EXIT's primary role involves providing strategic oversight and support to its subfranchises and franchises. This support encompasses the establishment, maintenance, and updating of policies, procedures, standards, and business insights within the Exit system. It is important to note that EXIT itself is not a real estate brokerage and does not hold membership in any real estate board.
EXIT's role extends to defining and managing the relationships within its network, including sales representatives and EXIT Associates. Sales representatives are licensed real estate professionals working for an EXIT franchise, while EXIT Associates include subfranchisors, franchisees, sales representatives, and certain non-licensed individuals under contract. EXIT also defines the "Effective Date" for sales representatives and other EXIT Associates, which marks when they can fully utilize EXIT's trade name and proprietary marks. This date is contingent upon completing required contracts, license transfers, and online profiles.
EXIT owns the rights to a business format franchise system designed to provide high-quality real estate services. This system includes distinctive elements such as the use of EXIT service marks, a specific color scheme, unique sales and promotional materials, standardized office procedures, and a distinctive remuneration plan for sales representatives detailed in the "EXIT Formula." EXIT grants subfranchisors the right to license the system and enter into franchise agreements within specific geographic areas. Franchisees, who must be licensed real estate brokers, are provided with information about EXIT and its system, and they agree to use the system in their real estate brokerage business.
