What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Exit's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Exit does not own or operate real estate sales offices. Instead, Exit focuses on selling subfranchises and franchises to independent operators. This means that prospective Exit franchisees will be operating their own independently owned and operated real estate brokerage offices, utilizing Exit's trademarks and systems.

This arrangement is common in the real estate franchise industry, where franchisors often focus on brand development, training, and support services, while franchisees manage the day-to-day operations of their individual offices. Exit provides its franchisees with a comprehensive system, including training programs, manuals, and advertising materials, to help them compete effectively in the real estate market.

It is important for potential franchisees to understand that they will be responsible for hiring and recruiting real estate sales representatives and for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to real estate brokerage. Exit Realty Upper Midwest, the subfranchisor, recommends that franchisees retain an attorney to advise them on these legal requirements. Franchisees are also required to possess a valid real estate broker's license in the state where their franchise is located.
