What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Exit's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the minimum office space requirement for a medium density area is 1,500 square feet. The size of the territory impacts the minimum office space required. Exit requires franchisees to have an initial office that contains a minimum of between 750 and 2,000 square feet, whether leased or purchased. This range is determined based on the size of the protected territory.
Exit franchisees must select a location for their franchise office within their protected territory and submit it to the subfranchisor for approval. The subfranchisor's approval cannot be unreasonably withheld. The franchisee is responsible for complying with all local ordinances and obtaining all necessary building permits.
If a franchisee has not selected an office site, if the franchisee and subfranchisor cannot agree on a site, or if the franchisee has not opened its office within 120 days after signing the Franchise Agreement, the subfranchisor may declare the agreement null and void, without returning any initial franchise fee or other amounts paid. All costs associated with acquiring, leasing, and operating the franchise office are the sole responsibility of the franchisee.
