What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Exit's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must attend training programs to renew their franchise agreement. Specifically, the franchisee must attend the training programs provided by the subfranchisor and Exit for renewing franchisees on or before the first day of the renewal term.
To renew the franchise agreement with Exit, the franchisee must meet several conditions. These include complying with all material terms and conditions of the agreement, meeting Exit's operating and performance standards, providing written notice of intent to renew at least six months before the expiration date, and executing the then-current standard franchise agreement.
Additionally, all monetary obligations to Exit and the subfranchisor must be timely paid. The franchisee must also pay a renewal fee, which is either 10% or 15% of the then-current initial franchise fee, depending on whether the renewal term is for five or ten years, respectively. Meeting all these conditions, including attending renewal training, is essential for an Exit franchisee to successfully extend their franchise agreement.
