What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Exit's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, an 'Exit Associate' encompasses a broad range of individuals within the Exit system. Specifically, Exit Associates include subfranchisors, franchisees, and sales representatives. The definition also extends to non-licensed individuals who have a written contract with an Exit franchise, subfranchise, or directly with Exit Realty Corp. International, provided they meet the requirements outlined in section 9.d) of the Exit Formula.
It is crucial for all Exit Associates who hold multiple roles within the Exit system to clearly identify their primary role on all relevant Exit documentation. This ensures proper classification and adherence to the Exit Formula, which governs fees and dues within the system. The effective date for sales representatives is determined by the formal transfer of their license under the Franchise's Real Estate Broker's License, execution of a Sales Representative's Agreement approved by Exit, and completion of the Exit Associate Profile.
For all other Exit Associates, the effective date is defined by the execution of a written contract with a Franchise, Subfranchise, or Exit, and the completion of the online Exit Associate Profile. Completing these prerequisites, including signing the contract, transferring the real estate license (if applicable), and finishing the Associate Profile, is essential to receive the remuneration package. Until these steps are completed, Exit Associates are prohibited from using the Exit trade name or any proprietary marks on business cards, signage, or in any published media.
This comprehensive definition of 'Exit Associate' highlights the diverse roles within the Exit system and underscores the importance of proper documentation and adherence to established procedures. Prospective franchisees should understand these classifications and requirements to ensure compliance and maximize their benefits within the Exit franchise network.
