What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Even Hotels' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a licensee must provide several written notifications to IHG before opening the hotel. Specifically, the licensee must notify IHG in writing that all requirements for construction, furnishing, and opening the hotel have been completed and that the hotel is ready to open as an Even Hotels brand system hotel. Additionally, IHG must grant written approval to open and operate the hotel as part of the brand system, which establishes the opening date.
Furthermore, the Even Hotels licensee must provide photo documentation of the "Ground Break" to IHG within one day after completion. The licensee is also obligated to keep IHG informed of any changes to the Final Plans or FF&E Specs (furniture, fixtures, and equipment specifications) during construction, submitting these changes within ten days of awareness for IHG's review and approval.
These notifications are crucial for ensuring that the Even Hotels property meets IHG's standards and is ready for operation. Failure to comply with these notification requirements or to complete additional work by the agreed-upon dates can result in a default under the license agreement. This process helps maintain brand consistency and quality across all Even Hotels locations.
