What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Even Hotels' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Participating Property is responsible for complying with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations that may apply to the Participation Agreement. This obligation extends to any product or service purchased under the agreement. This requirement ensures that the Even Hotels location operates within the legal framework of its jurisdiction.
This compliance requirement places a significant responsibility on the franchisee. It means the franchisee must stay informed about all applicable laws and regulations, which can be complex and subject to change. This includes understanding laws related to hospitality, employment, data privacy, and other relevant areas. Failing to comply with these laws can result in fines, penalties, and legal proceedings, for which the Participating Property would be held responsible.
Furthermore, the Participation Agreement requires the Hotel to be in material compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and PCI DSS requirements relating to data security and privacy. This highlights the importance of data protection and security in the operation of an Even Hotels franchise. The franchisee must implement and maintain systems and processes to safeguard sensitive data and comply with relevant data protection laws. This is particularly important in today's environment where data breaches and privacy concerns are prevalent.
