What must representatives of an Even Hotels location do before detailed construction documents are started?
Even_Hotels Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
Before detailed construction documents are started by your architect, representatives of your Hotel must attend a kick-off meeting for consultation and coordination with Holiday. Various members of the EVEN® Hotels team will be present to review all related business plans, target markets for operation, and building plans as well as scheduled timelines for the completion of these plans to licensee. Members of the EVEN® Hotels team may include senior operations management and representatives from other areas, including, for example, sales and marketing, purchasing, information technology, and other license support systems. Holiday requires the following representatives of your Hotel to attend the kick-off meeting: Principal Contact (licensee), General Manager (if appointed), Designer and Architectural Representatives, General Contractor, and all other principals involved in the construction, development and marketing of the property. There is no charge for the kick-off meeting. However, you must pay your representatives' travel, lodging and living expenses.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Even Hotels Franchise Disclosure Document, before an Even Hotels franchisee begins detailed construction documents, representatives of the hotel must attend a kick-off meeting for consultation and coordination with Holiday. This meeting involves various members of the Even Hotels team who will review related business plans, target markets, building plans, and scheduled timelines.
The Even Hotels team members present at the kick-off meeting may include senior operations management and representatives from sales and marketing, purchasing, information technology, and other license support systems. The franchisor requires specific representatives from the franchisee's hotel to attend, including the Principal Contact (licensee), General Manager (if appointed), Designer and Architectural Representatives, General Contractor, and all other principals involved in the construction, development, and marketing of the property.
There is no direct charge for the kick-off meeting itself. However, the Even Hotels franchisee is responsible for covering the travel, lodging, and living expenses of their representatives attending the meeting. This kick-off meeting is a mandatory step in the process, ensuring alignment and coordination between the franchisee and franchisor before significant construction expenses are incurred.
