What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Even Hotels' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must hire a project team that includes an interior designer with specific qualifications. The interior designer must have experience with upscale or boutique hotel brands. This requirement ensures that the design aligns with the brand standards of IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), Even Hotels' parent company.
Even Hotels requires that all architects and interior designers must be approved by Holiday (likely referring to IHG) before starting the project. If a franchisee hires unqualified individuals and submits design work, Even Hotels can reject the work, potentially leading to a Plan default. This default can result in a fee assessment of up to $5,000.
This requirement is in place to maintain brand consistency and quality across all Even Hotels locations. The franchisor retains the right to demand the removal of any non-approved product installed in the hotel if it has not received explicit written approval from IHG Plan Review before installation. Therefore, it is crucial for prospective franchisees to ensure that their chosen interior designers meet the specified criteria and receive the necessary approvals to avoid potential penalties and ensure compliance with Even Hotels' standards.
