What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Even Hotels' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the licensee is responsible for maintaining their Hardware, Software, and network environment to meet the Minimum Configuration standards set by IHG. IHG may update this Minimum Configuration periodically due to evolving technology and security needs, and will notify the licensee of these changes through IHG's online portal, currently branded as "IHG Marketplace."
The Even Hotels licensee is responsible for any costs associated with ensuring their systems meet the Minimum Configuration requirements. Within 90 days of any update to the Minimum Configuration, or within a shorter or longer period specified by IHG in writing (email is sufficient), the licensee must purchase and install the then-current approved software and hardware. They must also decommission any hardware and software that is no longer approved.
This requirement ensures that all Even Hotels locations maintain a consistent and secure technological infrastructure. Failure to comply with these updates could lead to compatibility issues, security vulnerabilities, or an inability to utilize IHG's systems effectively. The franchisee bears the financial burden of these updates, which is a standard practice in franchising to maintain brand standards and operational efficiency.
