What must an Even Hotels design and construction team do before beginning detailed construction and design plans?

Even_Hotels Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You must use architects and interior design firms approved by Holiday for the build-out of your Hotel. To be approved by Holiday, such architects and interior design firms must demonstrate premium/luxury hospitality experience with a minimum of 3 to 5 completed projects in the past five (5) years. Prior to your architect and/or design firm beginning detailed construction and design plans, your design and construction team must: attend a Design Immersion Session for training on the brand hallmarks, design philosophy and PIP/Plan Review process. You must pay your travel, lodging and other miscellaneous expenses for these mandatory programs. Before any construction or design begins, you must meet with your Openings Regional Director and submit preliminary plans to Holiday for comment and approval. There is an expectation that you, and your general contractor must attend a kick-off meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, or other locations that Holiday may designate. There are no fees for the kick-off meeting; however, you must pay for your travel, lodging and miscellaneous expenses.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Even Hotels' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, before starting detailed construction and design plans, the franchisee's design and construction team must first attend a Design Immersion Session. This session provides training on the brand hallmarks, design philosophy, and the PIP/Plan Review process. The franchisee is responsible for covering all travel, lodging, and miscellaneous expenses associated with attending these mandatory programs.

Additionally, before any construction or design work commences, the franchisee must meet with their Openings Regional Director and submit preliminary plans to Holiday for their review, comments, and approval. The FDD also states that Even Hotels expects the franchisee and their general contractor to attend a kick-off meeting, which may be held in Atlanta, Georgia, or at another location designated by Holiday. There are no fees for the kick-off meeting itself, but the franchisee is responsible for covering their own travel, lodging, and miscellaneous expenses to attend.

These requirements ensure that the design and construction of the Even Hotels location aligns with the brand's standards and specifications. By attending the Design Immersion Session and obtaining Holiday's approval on preliminary plans, franchisees can minimize potential issues or costly revisions during the construction phase. The kick-off meeting further facilitates communication and alignment between the franchisee, the general contractor, and Holiday, contributing to a smoother and more efficient hotel opening process.
