What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Even Hotels' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, after the Final Plans have been approved by IHG, franchisees must promptly notify IHG of any changes that occur during construction. Specifically, the franchisee has a deadline of no more than ten days after becoming aware, or when they should have been aware, of any changes to the Final Plans. This notification must be in writing.
This requirement ensures that Even Hotels maintains control over the construction and design of each hotel, even after the initial plans have been approved. It allows IHG to monitor any deviations from the approved plans and address any potential issues that may arise during construction. The franchisee bears the responsibility of staying informed about all changes to the Final Plans and communicating those changes to IHG within the specified timeframe.
For a prospective Even Hotels franchisee, this means maintaining diligent oversight of the construction process and establishing clear communication channels with contractors and other parties involved in the project. Failing to notify IHG of changes within the ten-day window could potentially lead to delays, penalties, or even the disapproval of the changes, requiring the franchisee to rectify the unapproved alterations. This requirement is stricter than some franchise systems, where franchisees might have more autonomy or longer notification periods for construction modifications.
