What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Epcon Communities' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are not required to attend additional training programs or refresher courses. However, Epcon Communities may offer additional training programs to address system-wide development needs. If these additional training programs are offered, a fee may be applied to cover expenses associated with materials and outside instructor costs.
While attendance isn't mandatory, these additional programs could be beneficial for franchisees looking to enhance their skills or stay updated on industry best practices. The fees associated with these programs would need to be factored into the franchisee's budget if they choose to participate.
In addition to optional training programs, Epcon Communities holds a national conference on an annual basis. While attendance is mandatory for at least one owner or an approved representative, it is recommended that sales and construction managers and staff also attend. This conference, lasting two to three days, focuses on sharing best practices and the latest initiatives to improve sales, lower operating costs, build efficient, high-quality homes, and improve profitability. There are registration fees for the conference, with early-bird registration costing $1,300 per attendee and regular registration costing $1,800 per attendee. Franchisees are also responsible for covering transportation, room, and board costs for all attendees.
