What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 FDD, Epcon Communities requires franchisees to obtain and maintain specific communications equipment to access their intranet. This includes modems, computer hardware and software, and telephone services (either long distance or local). Franchisees must also secure their own Internet service provider (ISP) for intranet access.
This requirement means that prospective Epcon Communities franchisees will need to budget for these technology costs upfront. Unlike some franchises that may provide or subsidize these resources, Epcon Communities places the full financial burden on the franchisee. These costs can include purchasing computers, installing necessary software, and paying monthly ISP and phone bills. The franchisee is solely responsible for any charges incurred for this equipment or access.
It is important for potential franchisees to factor in these ongoing technology expenses when evaluating the overall cost of investing in an Epcon Communities franchise. They should also inquire about the minimum hardware and software specifications required by Epcon Communities to ensure compatibility with the intranet and avoid unexpected upgrade costs in the future. Understanding these technology requirements is crucial for smooth business operations and communication with Epcon Communities.
