What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Epcon Communities' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, access to the Epcon Communities Intranet is considered a privilege, not a right. This privilege is granted by Epcon Communities upon the execution and delivery of the franchise agreement and acceptance of the same by Epcon Communities. Access begins with the issuance of access codes.
Epcon Communities retains the right to terminate access to the Intranet at any time, with or without notice, and for any reason or no reason. Access rights also terminate immediately and without notice if the franchisee fails to maintain authorized franchisee status. Upon termination of the agreement or access rights, the franchisee must immediately cease accessing the Epcon Communities Intranet, including the website and databases.
This means that while franchisees are granted access to the Intranet to support their business operations, Epcon Communities maintains full control over this access. Franchisees should be aware that this access can be revoked, and they should ensure they understand and comply with the terms and conditions governing Intranet usage to avoid termination of access. This is not uncommon in franchising, as franchisors often need to maintain control over proprietary information and systems.
