Answer from 2025 FDD Document

  • D.

As of the Agreement Date, we only offer franchises for Engineering For Kids Businesses that operate under our "Learning Center Based Business" format.

An operator establishes an instruction facility and office location that will serve as the operator's permanent base of operations, will be devoted entirely to the operation of an Engineering For Kids Business, and will bear exterior "Engineering For Kids" signage (a "EFK Center Location").

An operator will also provide Programs to customers at one or more sites that the operator locates and secures (each a "Third Party Site").

Although each Third Party Site must meet our standards and specifications, the operator is not required to build-out the space or to otherwise maintain a permanent presence at these sites.

Third Party Sites may include facilities, such as community centers and parks and recreation centers, where the operator rents a portion of the facility for specific schedule of days or time slots, or other facilities, such as afterschool care centers and schools, at which the operator conducts Programs on a scheduled basis as an independent service provider.

Unless otherwise indicated in this Agreement, "Authorized Location" will refer to Third Party Sites and EFK Center Locations.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Engineering For Kids Franchise Disclosure Document, Engineering For Kids currently offers franchises for businesses that operate under a "Learning Center Based Business" format. This format requires the franchisee to establish an instruction facility and office location that serves as a permanent base of operations. This location must be devoted entirely to the operation of an Engineering For Kids Business and must display exterior Engineering For Kids signage. This location is referred to as an "EFK Center Location".

In addition to the EFK Center Location, Engineering For Kids franchisees also provide programs to customers at other sites they secure, known as "Third Party Sites". While these Third Party Sites must meet Engineering For Kids' standards and specifications, franchisees are not required to build out the space or maintain a permanent presence at these locations. Third Party Sites can include facilities such as community centers, parks and recreation centers, and afterschool care centers.

Therefore, an Engineering For Kids franchisee operates both from a dedicated learning center and from various third-party locations, offering programs at both. The term "Authorized Location" refers to both Third Party Sites and EFK Center Locations, indicating that Engineering For Kids programs can be conducted at either type of location.
