What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Engineering For Kids' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee who chooses to renew their franchise agreement for an additional term must pay a successor franchise fee. The discounted successor franchise fee is $3,500. This fee is less than the initial franchise fee new franchisees pay.

To be eligible for a successor franchise agreement, the franchisee must provide written notice of their intent to renew not more than 12 months and not less than 6 months before the current agreement expires. They must also sign the current standard Engineering For Kids Franchise Agreement, which may have different terms and fees than the original agreement.

Additionally, the franchisee must be in good standing, with all amounts owed to Engineering For Kids, its affiliates, and major suppliers paid in full. They must also have substantially complied with all obligations throughout the term of the agreement and make any necessary capital expenditures to meet the franchisor's current image and operating standards. The franchisee must also sign a general release of claims against Engineering For Kids.
