What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Engineering For Kids' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, when evaluating a proposed site, Engineering For Kids will consider demographic data provided by the franchisee, along with other information regarding the location and area characteristics. These characteristics include the square footage of dedicated space available, signage and visibility, access, the condition of the building where the site is located, and the availability of parking.
Before committing to a location, a prospective Engineering For Kids franchisee must notify Engineering For Kids of the proposed site and submit a site review report. This report must include photographs, demographic information, and any other information that Engineering For Kids may require. Within 30 days of receiving this information, Engineering For Kids will either approve or reject the proposed site in writing. If the site is rejected, the franchisee can submit another proposal.
It is important to note that the franchisee is responsible for identifying and securing a location at their own expense within 60 days after signing the Franchise Agreement, referred to as the "Search Period." If a suitable site is not identified and approved within this period, Engineering For Kids may extend the Search Period by up to 60 days if the franchisee has used their best efforts. Failure to acquire or lease a site within the Search Period can result in default under the Franchise Agreement and potential termination of the agreement.
