What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Engineering For Kids Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee establishes an instruction facility and office location to serve as a permanent base of operations, that location must bear exterior "Engineering For Kids" signage. This type of location is referred to as an "EFK Center Location".
Engineering For Kids franchisees are required to find and secure a suitable site for their EFK Center Location. The franchisee must also sign an EFK Learning Center Location Addendum, unless they already possess an approved location. Engineering For Kids will provide general design plans and a basic layout for authorized locations.
The franchisee is responsible for preparing each authorized location for operation as an Engineering For Kids business, including construction, remodeling, furnishing, decorating, and equipping the Learning Center Location according to Engineering For Kids' requirements as outlined in the EFK Learning Center Location Addendum. Franchisees must comply with Engineering For Kids' standards for layout, equipment, furnishings, fixtures, décor, and use of proprietary materials, and must obtain prior written consent for any modifications. They must also ensure compliance with all applicable ordinances, building codes, permit requirements, and must obtain all necessary zoning, utility, health, and sign permits and licenses.
