What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Engineering For Kids FDD, Engineering For Kids has the right to direct all marketing programs. This includes the final say over creative concepts, materials, and the media used in these programs, as well as their placement.
This means that while franchisees may conduct local marketing within their territory, Engineering For Kids retains ultimate control over the brand's marketing strategy and execution. Franchisees must adhere to the marketing guidelines and approvals set by Engineering For Kids.
Engineering For Kids also manages a Brand Fund, which is used for system-wide advertising, marketing, and promotional activities. While franchisees contribute to this fund, Engineering For Kids decides how the money is spent and is not obligated to ensure that franchisees benefit proportionally to their contributions. This centralized control ensures brand consistency and allows Engineering For Kids to implement marketing strategies that benefit the entire franchise system.
Engineering For Kids can deduct 15% of the Brand Fund contributions for administration and management of the fund. This covers the costs associated with managing the fund and supporting the marketing programs. Franchisees should be aware that their contributions are subject to this deduction, and they do not have direct control over how the Brand Fund is managed or spent.
