What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Engineering For Kids's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must implement and periodically upgrade the Computer System and Required Software as the franchisor reasonably requests. These requests for Computer Upgrades must be made in writing. This ensures that there is a clear record of what is expected of the franchisee in terms of technology and software.
Engineering For Kids franchisees are also required to comply with the specifications issued regarding the Computer System, Required Software, and Computer Upgrades. These specifications come at the franchisee's expense, potentially including monthly licensing and support fees, as well as charges for installation, setup, or training. These costs are paid to the supplier of such services or items, which may include Engineering For Kids or its affiliates.
Furthermore, Engineering For Kids requires unimpeded access to the franchisee's Computer System and Required Software, including all information and data maintained on it. This access must be provided in the manner, form, and at the times requested by Engineering For Kids. This allows the franchisor to monitor and manage the data related to the franchise operations, ensuring compliance and potentially using the data for their own purposes.
