What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Engineering For Kids FDD, the Proprietary Marks are how the business is identified. These marks include the "Engineering For Kids" name along with trademarks, service marks, trade names, signs, logos and other indicators of origin. Engineering For Kids may also designate other trade names, service marks and trademarks as Proprietary Marks in the future.

Engineering For Kids grants franchisees the right to use these Proprietary Marks to operate their franchise within their designated territory. However, this right is limited and the franchisee does not gain any ownership interest in the marks themselves. All goodwill associated with the Proprietary Marks remains the property of Engineering For Kids. Franchisees must only use the designated Proprietary Marks in the manner authorized by Engineering For Kids, solely for operating and advertising the franchised business within their territory.

Upon termination or expiration of the franchise agreement, the franchisee must immediately cease all use of the "Engineering For Kids" name and all other Proprietary Marks. They must also discontinue using any similar forms, slogans, signs, symbols, websites, domain names, email addresses, and devices associated with the Engineering For Kids system. Furthermore, franchisees are prohibited from using any imitation of the Proprietary Marks that could cause confusion or dilute Engineering For Kids' exclusive rights to those marks, even if they start a new business.
