What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Engineering For Kids's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial training program is provided at no charge for up to two people, provided all personnel are trained during the same session. This benefit extends to the franchisee (or the Operating Principal) and any other Designated Employee, if it's their first Engineering For Kids Business.
However, if additional people beyond the first two attend the initial training, the franchisee must pay the then-current training charge for each additional person. As of the disclosure document's date, this charge is $300 per person, but it is subject to change.
It's important to note that while the training itself is offered at no charge for the first two attendees, the franchisee is responsible for all expenses incurred in attending the training, including transportation, lodging, meals, wages, and worker's compensation insurance. If the franchisee or their personnel fail to complete the initial training satisfactorily, they may repeat the course or send a substitute to the next available session, but Engineering For Kids reserves the right to charge a reasonable fee for initial training for substitute personnel.
