What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Engineering For Kids FDD, Engineering For Kids is not required to make expenditures for advertising and promotional activities. The FDD states, "We may make, or refrain from making, any expenditures for advertising and promotional activities." This means that Engineering For Kids has the discretion to decide whether or not to invest in advertising and promotional efforts.

Engineering For Kids controls all aspects of advertising, public relations, marketing, market research, and promotional campaigns. The advertising contributions collected are intended to maximize recognition of the Engineering For Kids brand for the benefit of the entire system. However, Engineering For Kids is not obligated to spend advertising contributions in a way that directly benefits each franchisee in proportion to their contributions.

Engineering For Kids may stop collecting and disbursing advertising contributions and terminate the Brand Fund, but not until all monies in the fund have been expended for marketing purposes. Franchisees are also required to participate in special promotional activities, bearing their own costs for local participation. Franchisees must also advertise their businesses in online directories as specified in the manual and conduct all advertising in a dignified manner, conforming to the standards specified by Engineering For Kids.
