The Brand Development Council (BDC) is made of up franchisees from all over the EFK network who volunteer their time in an effort to meet goals and initiatives for the betterment of Engineering For Kids. The primary goal of the BDC is to grow the brand through world class student experience and innovative programs. They work to promote and facilitate the growth of the franchise system by elevating best practices, initiating projects based on feedback from franchise owners and working directly with franchisees from the network to accomplish these projects. What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Engineering For Kids FDD, franchisees are not required to participate in the Brand Development Council (BDC). The FDD specifies that the BDC is composed of franchisees from the Engineering For Kids network who volunteer their time to work towards goals and initiatives for the betterment of Engineering For Kids.

The primary goal of the BDC is to grow the brand through student experience and innovative programs. The council works to promote and facilitate the growth of the franchise system by elevating best practices, initiating projects based on feedback from franchise owners, and working directly with franchisees to accomplish these projects.

It is important to note that the council's authority is advisory only, and Engineering For Kids retains the right to dissolve or change the franchise advisory council. This means that while franchisee input is valued, the franchisor ultimately makes the final decisions. Franchisees who choose to participate in the BDC can provide valuable insights and contribute to the growth and development of the Engineering For Kids brand, but participation is not mandatory.
