What is an Engineering For Kids EFK Center Location?
Engineering_For_Kids Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
As of the Agreement Date, we only offer franchises for Engineering For Kids Businesses that operate under our "Learning Center Based Business" format.
An operator establishes an instruction facility and office location that will serve as the operator's permanent base of operations, will be devoted entirely to the operation of an Engineering For Kids Business, and will bear exterior "Engineering For Kids" signage (a "EFK Center Location").
An operator will also provide Programs to customers at one or more sites that the operator locates and secures (each a "Third Party Site").
Although each Third Party Site must meet our standards and specifications, the operator is not required to build-out the space or to otherwise maintain a permanent presence at these sites.
Third Party Sites may include facilities, such as community centers and parks and recreation centers, where the operator rents a portion of the facility for specific schedule of days or time slots, or other facilities, such as afterschool care centers and schools, at which the operator conducts Programs on a scheduled basis as an independent service provider.
Unless otherwise indicated in this Agreement, "Authorized Location" will refer to Third Party Sites and EFK Center Locations.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Engineering For Kids FDD, an EFK Center Location is a physical instruction facility and office that serves as the franchisee's permanent base of operations. This location is exclusively dedicated to operating the Engineering For Kids business and must display exterior "Engineering For Kids" signage.
In addition to the EFK Center Location, franchisees may also conduct programs at Third Party Sites, such as community centers or schools, without needing to maintain a permanent presence there. The FDD specifies that both EFK Center Locations and Third Party Sites are considered "Authorized Locations."
Engineering For Kids only offers franchises for businesses operating under the Learning Center Based Business format. Franchisees are responsible for finding and securing a suitable site for their EFK Center Location and must sign an EFK Learning Center Location Addendum, unless they already have an approved location. Franchisees must also adhere to Engineering For Kids' standards for layout, equipment, and décor, and obtain all necessary permits and licenses for their location.
