The Brand Development Council (BDC) is made of up franchisees from all over the EFK network who volunteer their time in an effort to meet goals and initiatives for the betterment of Engineering For Kids. The primary goal of the BDC is to grow the brand through world class student experience and innovative programs. They work to promote and facilitate the growth of the franchise system by elevating best practices, initiating projects based on feedback from franchise owners and working directly with franchisees from the network to accomplish these projects. What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Engineering For Kids FDD, Engineering For Kids retains the right to dissolve or change the Brand Development Council (BDC). The BDC is composed of franchisees who volunteer to improve Engineering For Kids, focusing on brand growth through student experience and innovative programs. The council aims to promote franchise system growth by elevating best practices and initiating projects based on franchisee feedback.
While the Brand Development Council plays an advisory role, Engineering For Kids maintains ultimate authority. This means that while the franchisor values franchisee input, it is not obligated to follow the council's recommendations.
This clause in the FDD gives Engineering For Kids flexibility in managing the franchise system and making decisions that it believes are in the best interest of the brand. Prospective franchisees should understand that while they may have the opportunity to participate in the BDC, Engineering For Kids has the final say and can dissolve or change the council's structure and function.
