What ability must manufacturers and suppliers demonstrate to Engineering For Kids?

According to the 2025 Engineering For Kids FDD, manufacturers and suppliers must demonstrate the ability to meet Engineering For Kids' standards and specifications, have adequate quality controls, and possess the capacity to supply a franchisee's needs promptly and reliably. This requirement applies to items or services for which Engineering For Kids specifies designated or approved suppliers.

Engineering For Kids may consider factors relating to the price and quality of the products or services, as well as the reliability of the supplier when deciding whether to approve suppliers for the system. Approval of a supplier may be conditional, pending further evaluation, and may depend on requirements relating to delivery frequency, service standards (including addressing complaints promptly), and purchase volume.

Engineering For Kids does not provide written criteria for approving suppliers but considers the factors mentioned above when evaluating potential suppliers. They may also formulate and modify standards and specifications based on their own experience, as well as the experiences of their affiliates and franchisees. Engineering For Kids retains the right to designate themselves or an affiliate as an exclusive or nonexclusive supplier of any goods or services used in connection with operating the businesses.
