What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Engel & Volkers's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee covers training for one person under the Leadership Path Training (LPT). However, Engel & Volkers may charge a training fee for any additional individuals trained under LPT or other training programs. Franchisees are also responsible for covering all expenses related to attending training classes for themselves and their personnel. These expenses include per diem salaries, travel, lodging, meals, transportation, and other incidental costs. Engel & Volkers also reserves the right to offer additional, ongoing, and supplemental training, some of which may be mandatory, and they reserve the right to charge a fee for attendance at these sessions.

This means that while the initial franchisee receives training, any subsequent training for additional personnel or advanced programs will likely incur extra costs. The franchisee needs to budget not only for the training fees themselves but also for all associated travel and accommodation expenses. This could represent a significant ongoing investment in employee development and skills enhancement.

Prospective franchisees should inquire about the typical costs of additional training programs, the frequency with which they are offered, and whether attendance is mandatory for certain roles or levels within the organization. Understanding these costs upfront will help in accurately forecasting the overall investment required to maintain a well-trained and competent team.
