Under what conditions will Engel & Volkers cancel an individual onsite training program?

Engel_Volkers Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

    1. If the designated person cannot attend any onsite training at a location determined by us, the training spot can be offered to another individual of your company. Seating may be limited for onsite training so participation is on a "first come – first served" basis. We may cancel the individual program due to lack of participation at least 30 days before the start date in which case you will receive a notification in writing and a refund of your already paid training fee. We recommend making your travel arrangements only after you receive a final confirmation.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Engel & Volkers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Engel & Volkers may cancel an individual onsite training program due to lack of participation. If Engel & Volkers cancels the program due to this reason, they must notify the franchisee in writing at least 30 days before the start date. In the event of cancellation, Engel & Volkers will refund any training fees that the franchisee has already paid.

Engel & Volkers also states that seating for onsite training may be limited, and participation is on a "first come – first served" basis. Therefore, it is important for franchisees to register for training programs as soon as possible to secure a spot. Engel & Volkers recommends that franchisees make travel arrangements only after receiving final confirmation of their participation in the training program.

It is common practice in the franchise industry for franchisors to reserve the right to cancel training programs due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. The 30-day notification period and refund policy offered by Engel & Volkers appear to be reasonable and in line with industry standards. Prospective franchisees should carefully review the training schedule and registration procedures to ensure they can attend the necessary programs and avoid any potential cancellation issues.
