Is there a test that the person attending training for Engel & Volkers must successfully pass?

Engel_Volkers Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

It is mandatory to attend the LPT training for an individual Franchisee, the Principals, or the broker manager (if the individual Franchisee or Principals will not be active in the Residential Real Estate Brokerage), for Sales Advisors and staff members supporting your Sales Advisors to attend Engel & Völkers Engage, and for at least one staff member working at the franchised Business who supports Sales Advisors to attend SPT training. However, there is no specific test or other requirement that the training be completed to our satisfaction.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Engel & Volkers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, while attendance at certain training programs is mandatory, there is no specific test or requirement to complete the training to the franchisor's satisfaction.

Engel & Volkers requires specific individuals to attend certain training programs. Franchisees, their brokerage managers (under certain conditions), sales advisors, and staff members supporting sales advisors must attend designated training courses. These include the Leadership Path Training (LPT), Engel & Völkers Engage, and Support Path Training (SPT). The Franchisee or Brokerage manager must attend the Leadership Path Training (LPT). All Sales Advisors and supporting staff must complete the Engel & Völkers Engage training within 90 days of affiliation. At least one administrative person supporting Sales Advisors must attend the Support Path Training (SPT) prior to the opening date.

Engel & Volkers retains the right to modify training programs, introduce new mandatory or optional sessions, and alter fees for attendance. Franchisees are responsible for all costs associated with training, including travel, accommodation, food, and compensation for staff members or sales advisors.

Prospective franchisees should note that while Engel & Volkers mandates attendance at specific training programs, the absence of a formal test or evaluation might place greater emphasis on the franchisee's and their staff's active participation and absorption of the training content. Franchisees should confirm with the franchisor any informal methods used to assess comprehension and application of the training material.
