Is there any on-the-job training required for the Engel & Volkers SPT training program?
Engel_Volkers Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
ange, and other training may become needed or advisable. Therefore, during the term of your Franchise Agreement, the training offering and requirements are likely to change.
It is mandatory to attend the LPT training for an individual Franchisee, the Principals, or the broker manager (if the individual Franchisee or Principals will not be active in the Residential Real Estate Brokerage), for Sales Advisors and staff members supporting your Sales Advisors to attend Engel & Völkers Engage, and for at least one staff member working at the franchised Business who supports Sales Advisors to attend SPT training. However, there is no specific test or other requirement that the training be completed to our satisfaction.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Engel & Volkers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the SPT training program does not require on-the-job training. The FDD mentions that at least one staff member working at the franchised Business who supports Sales Advisors must attend SPT training. The cost for SPT is $298 per person, assuming a minimum of 4 attendees if conducted via virtual web-based training platform.
The document outlines various training programs, including the Engel & Volkers Leadership Path Training (LPT). However, the tables summarizing the LPT program show the hours of classroom training, but no hours of on-the-job training.
Prospective franchisees should note that while on-the-job training is not listed for the SPT program, Engel & Volkers reserves the right to offer additional, ongoing, and supplemental training sessions, some of which may be mandatory. Franchisees are responsible for the costs associated with attending these training sessions, including travel, accommodation, and out-of-pocket expenses.
