What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Engel & Volkers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, they began offering yachting brokerage franchises in October 2012. However, the company temporarily stopped the yachting program as of December 31, 2014. Engel & Volkers resumed offering yachting brokerage franchises in the United States in October 2019. At that time, they offered Franchise Agreements for Engel & Volkers Yachting Brokerages in a limited number of states, specifically New York, California, and Florida, under a separate FDD.

For prospective franchisees, this indicates that the yachting franchise program has experienced periods of availability and unavailability. The initial offering in 2012 was followed by a temporary suspension, suggesting potential instability or strategic shifts within this segment of the Engel & Volkers franchise system. The re-introduction of the yachting franchise in 2019, with its limited geographic scope and separate FDD, highlights that this is a distinct and specialized offering compared to the residential real estate franchises.

It is important for potential Engel & Volkers yachting brokerage franchisees to understand the reasons behind the program's initial suspension and the factors influencing its re-launch. Investigating the performance and support systems for the yachting franchises in the specified states (New York, California, and Florida) would also be prudent. Additionally, understanding the relationship between Engel & Volkers and E&V Yachting, the German entity initially responsible for the yachting program, could provide further insights into the program's structure and international operations.
