Who bears the cost of the GG Magazine copies provided to an Engel & Volkers franchisee?

According to Engel & Volkers' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the cost of GG Magazine copies provided to the franchisee for their Approved Location is borne by the National Marketing and Technology Fund. This fund is used for various marketing and technology-related expenses to promote the Engel & Volkers system.

Specifically, the National Marketing and Technology Fund covers the costs associated with providing copies of the GG Magazine, as stated in Section 10.2 of the FDD. This fund is also used for national, regional, or local media and other marketing techniques, technologies, or programs designed to communicate the services of all franchisees in the Engel & Volkers system to the public. It also covers creation and production costs, including providing and improving the Integrated Product Suite and technology for productivity tools.

However, franchisees are required to place at least one full-page advertisement per year for their Approved Location in one issue of GG Magazine, with the issue selected by the franchisee. If a franchisee has multiple Approved Locations, they must place additional full-page advertisements per year. The advertising fees are published in the current Price Lists, which are subject to change by Grund Genug Verlag. While the initial copies of the magazine are covered by the fund, franchisees are responsible for the costs of their advertisements within the magazine.
