What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Embassy Suites By Hilton Franchise Disclosure Document, VPN access, which is used to access the training hotel, will be terminated for each property at the time of the hotel opening or live utilization of the Information System. This access is provided to franchisees to facilitate training and comes with a cost that includes fees from HSS's current VPN access provider for up to 5,000 minutes of network access, as well as HSS internal costs for configuration services.
This means that franchisees will have VPN access available during the training phase leading up to the opening of their Embassy Suites By Hilton location. However, once the hotel is operational and actively using its information systems, the VPN access will be discontinued. This is likely because the ongoing operational needs will be met through the hotel's own dedicated network and systems.
Prospective franchisees should factor in the cost of VPN access as part of their initial training expenses. It is important to ensure that all necessary training is completed within the VPN access period to avoid any disruptions or additional costs. Franchisees may want to inquire about the possibility of extending VPN access if needed, and what the associated costs would be.
