What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Embassy Suites By Hilton's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to accept software patches. Specifically, the franchisee must accept all patches, bug fixes, updates, version upgrades, maintenance, and service packs that Embassy Suites By Hilton deems necessary for the proper function and security of the software. These updates can come from Embassy Suites By Hilton or a preferred provider.
Embassy Suites By Hilton is not responsible for any performance or security issues that arise if the franchisee fails to apply these necessary patches. This requirement ensures that all Embassy Suites By Hilton locations maintain a consistent and secure software environment, which is crucial for protecting customer data and ensuring smooth operations.
This requirement is fairly standard in the franchise industry, as franchisors need to maintain control over their systems to ensure brand consistency and security. For a prospective Embassy Suites By Hilton franchisee, this means they must be prepared to promptly implement any software updates or patches as directed by the franchisor to avoid potential operational issues and maintain compliance with the franchise agreement.
