4.0 OUR RESPONSIBILITIES
We have the following responsibilities to you under this Agreement. We reserve the right to fulfill some or all of these responsibilities through one of our Affiliates or through unrelated third parties, in our sole business judgment. We may require you to make payment for any resulting services or products directly to the provider.
- 4.1 Training. We may specify certain required and optional training programs and provide these programs at various locations. We may charge you for required training services and materials and for optional training services and materials we provide to you. You are responsible for selecting the personnel to attend such training programs. You are also responsible for all travel, lodging and other expenses you or your employees (or your Management Company's personnel) incur in connection with attending these programs.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Embassy Suites Franchise Disclosure Document, Embassy Suites may specify certain required and optional training programs, providing these programs at various locations. The FDD indicates that Embassy Suites may charge franchisees for required training services and materials, as well as for any optional training services and materials provided.
Embassy Suites specifies that franchisees are responsible for selecting the personnel to attend these training programs. Additionally, the franchisee is responsible for covering all travel, lodging, and other expenses incurred by themselves, their employees, or their management company's personnel in connection with attending these programs.
The Franchise Disclosure Document specifies that when Embassy Suites provides training, it provides the training content that it deems necessary and appropriate for the business functions of the Hotel so that it may operate in accordance with their Standards. However, Embassy Suites does not direct or supervise the franchisee's personnel, nor does it retain or exercise any control over their personnel or personnel policies and procedures.
