What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Embassy Suites's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adopt, use, and comply with the Standards, and keep their Manual current at all times. This requirement is part of maintaining the hotel in first-class condition and adhering to the System that Embassy Suites licenses. The Standards are the rules that Embassy Suites franchisees must follow.

In practical terms, this means an Embassy Suites franchisee must regularly update their operational manual with any changes or updates provided by the franchisor. This ensures that the hotel's practices align with the latest brand standards, legal requirements, and best practices. Failing to keep the manual current could lead to non-compliance with the franchise agreement and potential penalties.

This requirement is typical in franchising, as franchisors need to maintain consistency across all locations to protect the brand's reputation. By mandating that franchisees keep their manuals current, Embassy Suites aims to ensure that all hotels operate to a uniform standard, providing guests with a consistent experience regardless of location. Franchisees should, therefore, have systems in place to promptly incorporate updates to the manual and train staff accordingly.
