What This Means (2025 FDD)
Yes, according to the 2025 Embassy Suites Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to advertise and promote their hotel on a local and regional level. Specifically, franchisees must market the hotel and its facilities and services in a dignified manner, adhering to Embassy Suites's identity and graphic standards for all hotels within the system. This advertising and promotion is to be done at the franchisee's own cost and expense.
Before using any advertising or promotional materials that Embassy Suites has not previously approved, franchisees must submit samples for approval. This includes materials in digital, electronic, or computerized form, or any form of media that exists now or is developed in the future. Franchisees cannot use these materials until they receive approval from Embassy Suites. Furthermore, Embassy Suites has the right to disapprove any advertising or promotional material, even if it was previously approved, and franchisees must immediately stop using such materials.
This requirement ensures that all Embassy Suites hotels maintain a consistent brand image and quality in their marketing efforts. While franchisees bear the cost of local and regional advertising, they must adhere to the franchisor's standards and obtain approval for their materials. This allows Embassy Suites to maintain control over brand representation while leveraging the franchisee's local market knowledge and investment.
