What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Embassy Suites' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the HITS (Hilton Information Technology Services) Agreement governs a franchisee's access to and use of the OnQ system. The OnQ system is Hilton's proprietary computerized business system, which is an integral part of the system that Embassy Suites licenses to its franchisees.
The HITS Agreement also covers the installation, ongoing support, and maintenance of the Guest Internet Access system. Franchisees are required to sign the HITS Agreement, along with any other related agreements, approximately 90 to 120 days before the hotel opens. Exhibit G of the FDD includes the current HITS Agreement.
In addition to the HITS Agreement, franchisees must purchase specific software licenses, such as Windows Server operating systems, database applications, and virus detection and removal tools. These licenses, where applicable, must be purchased through existing enterprise agreements that HSS (Hilton Supply Management) has with vendors like Microsoft. HSS will then invoice the hotel for these purchases. Franchisees can buy other software not covered by these enterprise agreements from third-party suppliers.
