In the Multi-Unit Development Agreement table, the estimate assumes you sign a Multi-Unit Development Agreement for five franchises. The franchise fee for your first unit is counted in the "Estimated Initial Investment – Franchise Agreement" table. You will pay all franchise fees upon signing the MUDA.
Note 2: Your lease security deposit and utility deposits will usually be refundable unless you owe money to the landlord or utility provider. None of the other expenditures in this table will be refundable.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Ella Cafe's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee of $49,500 is generally non-refundable. Item 7, Note 1 states that "All payments are payable to us and are nonrefundable unless otherwise stated." Item 5 further clarifies that the initial franchise fee is uniformly calculated for all franchisees and is non-refundable upon payment.
For franchisees who sign a Multi-Unit Development Agreement (MUDA) to develop multiple Ella Cafe locations, a development fee is required. This fee covers the initial franchise fees for the multiple units. Similar to the single-unit franchise fee, the development fee is also nonrefundable upon payment.
Prospective franchisees should be aware that, with the exception of lease and utility security deposits, all other expenditures listed in Item 7 are non-refundable. Therefore, it is crucial to carefully consider the financial commitment before signing the franchise agreement or MUDA with Ella Cafe, as the initial fees are non-refundable.
